The Dundrum Sailing Club has studied the document "A Village Development Plan for Dundrum, 2012-2016" - by Mentor economic development ltd.
The club wishes to record that the remit set for the report was chosen before the inception of the Club itself. Unfortunately therefore the club was not in a position to contribute to the reports compillation.
However Dundrum Sailing Club notes from the report (reproduced with permission of Mentor) -
point 4 on the executive summary - " considerable dissatisfaction with recreation & leisure facilities locally "-
& also notes
point 19 - Improving local sercices - a stated need to "improve access to harbour & water recreational activities"

Dundrum Sailing Club considers that, should this plan, driven by Dundrum Village Association, lead to a very welcome increase in watersport participation, then the provision of a rescue boat on station in the harbour area, moves from desireable to the essential.
The club welcomes the very kind letter of indication of potential financial assistance from D.V.A. & hopes to make some of our aims align with theirs.
