Establishment of colateral risks to non participants & members of the public viewing watersports

Return of competitive sailing to Dundrum after a 25 year break has the capacity to generate considerable public interest & thus must have something to contribute to the tourist economy activity mix of Dundrum Village.

Therefore the club not only has a role in providing rescue service to it's members & guests during events, it might also have to come to the aid of the public at these times & at other times should a genera; emergency occurr.

Given that is a stated aim of the Dundrum Village Plan is to improve access to harbour & water recreational activities  and the community (2010) expressed considerable dissatisfaction with recreation & leisure facilities locally  this then must surely be the opportunity for the sailing club to show leadership.

In this regard Dundrum Sailing Club is committed to forming working relationships with neighbouring clubs, R.N.L.I & Maritime and Coastguard Agency

Shown here is a typical scene from the 2012 regatta & Dundrum Sailing Club greatly acknowledge the kind assistance in providing reccue boat cover by the I.L.B. from Newcastle Co Down R.N.L.I.
